Like many people, I have been on an emotional roller coaster ride between dread and hope ever since Trump’s selection by the electoral college. I know others who had a similar response when Obama won the popular vote.
The images in this portfolio are taken from a visual diary of my every-day life. They address my experience with dread and hope. They reflect an experience of dread that includes feelings of being singled out, isolated, helpless, overwhelmed and alone.
The images in this portfolio do not make a distinction between right or wrong or the Left or the Right. Nor do the images make a distinction between dread based on facts, faith, fantasy, fake news, or foreign disinformation. The intent is to present a collection of images that represent core feelings and beliefs that form common ground between polarized groups.
